NodePing Privacy Policy

NodePing LLC is in the business of providing our customers with server monitoring and related services. We are not in the business of collecting information to sell for other purposes. We collect information in the course of providing our services, but we will use it only for the purpose of providing the services we say we provide. There is no hidden agenda or plan to use your data for purposes other than as intended. We are not secretly harvesting data to provide it to hackers, spammers, or organizations plotting to take over the world. We figure they probably already have all your data anyway.

Information we collect includes:

1. Information you provide. Obviously we need to know where to send notifications, billing and credit card information, information about your network or services necessary to monitor them, and other things we need to know in order to provide our services. We use this information to provide the service.
2. Cookies. Modern web applications store session information. In order to do this, we use cookies. We also use cookies to track visits to the web site and how our application is used so that we can improve the service.
3. User communications. You might communicate with us. If you do, we will have the communication you send us. We will not use it for purposes other than for which it is intended. We might even communicate with you.
4. Logging. In the course of providing our services we log information about our services and their use. This might capture information about your use of the service, including identifiable information. Our purpose for logging is to maintain and improve the service, and to troubleshoot possible problems. We aren't harvesting logging information for other purposes.

We might share information with others.

This might include:

Third party providers. We use third party services to provide some analytics. We might use another company to help process or route email, provide accounting or tax services, or for other things we need to do in the course of providing our services or carrying out our normal business. We will not intentionally partner with any companies that use information we provide for any purpose other than what is intended.

Legal requirements. If we are required to provide information to law enforcement or other government bodies, we will do so. We aren't in the business of law enforcement, but we will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Change Happens

If at some point we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or some other form of sale of some part of our company or services, we will act in good faith to ensure that your information continues to be used for the purposes you intended in using our services.

If at some point we come up with a need to collect or share information that isn't covered here, we'll let you know. Usually it will be by publishing a new version of this policy. If the changes impact the spirit of what we've said, we'll be more vocal about making sure you know about the changes. We probably won't come by your house to tell you in person, but we will take reasonable steps to notify our users of changes.
